1 January Application letters, with resumés, for the current year must be received by the Chair, Membership Committee. [1] It is desirable that sponsorship letters be submitted with the application. 15 January Sponsors’ letters or equivalent interview reports must be received by the Chair, Membership Committee. 15 Jan/15 Feb Membership Committee meets and considers current year’s applications. Applicants, who fail to meet minimum requirements are advised in writing by the Chair, Membership Committee, and are not considered further. [2] 15 February The Chair of the Membership Committee will advise the President and Board of the CCA of the name of each candidate who has submitted the requisite nomination materials and appears to meet the minimumqualifications for admission. [3] 1 March Comments from the President and the Board of the CCA on the candidates are due to the Chair of the Membership Committee. The Membership Committee, in its discretion, will consider the comments that are received. All comments shall be considered confidential. [4] March Membership Committee meets and considers comments, if any, from the Board and President with respect to candidates for admission to membership. It makes final determination of nominees to be recommended to the President for submission to the Board of Directors for admission. 1 April Chair, Membership Committee, will inform the President of the candidates who are recommended to the Board for approval as new members. April-June Board of Directors considers and votes on recommended candidates for admission to membership in the CCA. 1 July Letter from President to each successful candidate, requesting his/her attendance at fall meeting. Unsuccessful candidates will be so advised by the Chair, Membership Committee. The membership acceptance letter to new fellows will state that it is an invitation to be a Fellow-elect. Invitation must be accepted by fulfilling two conditions subsequent. Full fellowship incepts only upon occurrence of both: 1. payment of dues; and 2. attendance to at least one of the next three meetings of the College. The dues shall be paid within 120 days of the date of the invitation.
[1] Applications which are received after the deadline may be considered in the Membership Committee’s discretion or put into the next year’s process. [2] It is contemplated that the Membership Committee will conduct two conference calls to address the annual membership and application issues. [3] It is envisioned that the membership solicitation will be accomplished by e-mail and that responses will be provided by e-mail. The Membership Committee may follow up with any member for more information as appropriate. [4] The Membership Committee shall consider the comments as appropriate. No member shall have an absolute veto over the membership application of any candidate. |
